Seems my Mac OS 10.12 (Sierra) keeps crashing with pixie. IS this to be expected? The screen goes wild and eventually the system reboots and all this starts over again. I just bought that computer and it's the only app on it. The apple care person suggested that it might be pixie. Can this be true? I never had an app that kept crashing my computer.
Pixie 4 is compatible with OS X 10.12. However, we currently do not recommend upgrading to that version of OS X due to an issue that prevents Pixie from printing on computers running OS X 10.12.4 or higher. We are currently looking into that issue, but I am not sure when we will have a fix in place.
The workaround for that issue is to export your Pixie project as images or a PDF and then print the exported files.
Our testing indicates that the printing issue reported by Pixie, Frames, and Share users under OS X 10.12 is resolved in OS X 10.13. Updating to OS X 10.13 (High Sierra) should resolve the printing issue.
This is unacceptable! One of my schools purchased this in August and was NOT given the information about it not working with the latest OS 10.12. We are unable to upgrade to 10.13 (High Sierra) at this time. We are not going to downgrade the OS either. This needs to be fixed!
Unfortunately, this is an issue that was introduced with OS X 10.12.4. This issue has been resolved in OS X 10.13. We do not plan on updating Pixie or Frames since the issue can be resolved by updating to the newest version of OS X.
If you are unable to upgrade your version of OS X, then you can export the Pixie file as an image or PDF and then print the exported file.
How can a company sell a product that they all ready have known has an issue with the current OSX and get away with it? The whole reason why we purchased the Pixie 4 was so that it would work with 10.12 (all the versions) and now it has issues. How can a company get away with that?
If you are unable to upgrade your version of OS X, then you can export the Pixie file as an image or PDF and then print the exported file.
I understand this is extra steps, but this is the only workaround that I have for versions of OS X that do not print - OS X 10.12.4, OS X 10.12.5, OS X 10.12.6.
