Is there a way to turn off auto capitalization in Wixie?

I'm trying to teach my students about using the shift key. Is there a way to turn off the auto-capitalization feature in Wixie?

Wixie does not automatically capitalize words.

If you are on an iPad or Android tablet, then this feature is a function of the device. You can check the documentation for the device to see how to turn this feature off.

If you still need assistance, please open a Support Ticket and we can gather some additional information from you about your device/system configuration.

Let me elaborate more. What I mean is the auto capitalization at the beginning of a sentence. When you first begin to type into a text box, the first letter is always capital. Is there any way to turn this feature off?

OK - sorry if I misunderstood your original question.

Wixie will capitalize the first word in a text object or the first word after a period. This is a feature we added based on customer requests. Unfortunately, the only way to overcome this is to backspace to erase the capitalization and then to re-type the word (hello vs Hello).

I'm not sure if this is an acceptable work-around, but you might try this:

Type the first word (this will be capitalized).
Press the Return/Enter key to go to a new line.
Now, the words will not be capitalized.
If you go to a new line without putting punctuation at the end of the previous line, then the words will not be automatically capitalized.

Hmmm... I could have them type their name on the first line, then hit enter and write their sentence. Thanks for the idea!
