Unfortunately, Apple no longer supports some of the technology that is required to run Pixie 3 on OS X 10.11 (El Capitan).
We do have a patch here that will allow you to run Pixie on OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)
If you have older OS X systems, you can run Pixie 3 on machines running OS X 10.5.
I would recommend upgrading to Pixie 4 if you want to use Pixie on OS X 10.11.
