You can import still images such as JPG, PNG or GIF into Frames 6. You can also import a Frames 5 file or a Frames 6 file as a scene.
Currently, video is not supported. You can find other applications online that will convert video to still images. You can then import these still images into Frames.
Note: Video will contain 24 frames per second, so a 10 second clip of video would create 240 frames. You will probably want to select key frames from your exported video stills.
