You can use the Tech4Learning.INI file found inside of the application folder to register Pixie 3 for all users.
The tech4learning.ini file is found inside of the application directory.
On Windows:
C:\Program Files (x86 on 64-bit systems)\Tech4learning\Pixie 3\tech4learning.ini
On OS X:
\Macintosh HD\Applications\Pixie 3\tech4learning.ini
Open the Tech4Learning.ini in Notepad on Windows or using TextEdit on OS X. If you are on Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8, you will need to right-click the Notepad application and choose Run as Administrator from the menu that appears.
Remove the # character from the beginning of the line:
#Pixie.3.registrationKey=XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX
Replace the XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX with your registration key.
The line will look like this:
Pixie.3.registrationKey=PXCXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX
Go to the File menu and choose Save to save the changes to the file.
Log on as a student and launch Pixie to ensure that you're not prompted to register. If you are prompted, check the tech4learning.ini file for a typo in the registration code.
You can then copy the Tech4Learning.ini file to all of the other computers on your network into the same location.
You can use these same steps for Pixie 2, Share, Pixie Home Edition, Frames 4 and Frames 5. On Windows, you can also use these steps for Pixie 4, Share 4 and Frames 6. The INI files will be named pixie.ini, share.ini and frames.ini respectively.
On Windows systems where extensions are hidden (the default setting), the file will show as a 'configuration file' and show an icon that looks like a gear on top of a sheet of notebook paper.
